My world? I've been here for a while now, so there isn't really anything I can tell you about it. As for my host... what do you want to know? Are you interested in politics or history or things like that?
If that isn't the most useful advice I've gotten, then I don't know what is.
I've travelled around on Earth some before I ended up at the resort, but I haven't really had a reason to peek outside for a while. It moves, so... who knows where it is now.
Alright, I guess I can give you a crash course in Erebonian politics. It's kind of a mess though, from what he last remembers. They were in the middle of a civil war and just trying to figure things out.
Congratulations, maybe I should give you your degree on sacrasm.
So this Resort is basically Howl's Moving Castle - wait. You probably won't even get that reference. Well, it's probably difficult to tell given that there's the whole staring into the void thing happening here.
Alright, I guess I'm going to be taking notes. But a civil war? For what? Wait, is that where the "trying to figure things out" part comes into play?
I don't, and the specifics escape me, but I think the name says it all. Is the castle alive too?
Not quite -- anyone who had been paying attention to current events could have predicted something like it would probably break out sooner or later. But before getting into the details of that, it'll be easier to start off by telling you about Erebonian culture.
[Ready for an infodump, Inaba...?!]
As an empire built off tradition, the class system remains one of the nation's main institutions. Aside from the royal family, the Four Great Houses are the most influential of the noble families and hold a lot of sway over national policy and many of the other systems around the country. But in the past ten years or so, the Reformist Faction started making headway into the government, enacting all sorts of laws and changes to benefit commoners.
There's been a lot of friction recently between the Reformist and Noble Factions, but it all came to a head a couple of months ago with the assassination of the Reformist Faction's leader. Since then, fighting's spread all across the land as the Noble Alliance has been trying to take control of the country.
Then I suppose I'll have to get to working on it! I'll make it really nice, just for you.
[ She... might actually genuinely mean it. ]
No, it's not alive. It's more... mechanical? And magical? But it did move around the world.
[ BUT OKAY, INFODUMP..... ]
This sure is. A lot. Also a class system, huh. Sounds pretty rural, if you ask me. I think I get it, though. What sort of laws are we talking about here, though?
And I assume that they don't want commoners to have these benefits, hence. All of the fighting??

Date: 2018-12-18 05:55 am (UTC)You really can't. Anyway, I'm still kind of curious about what your world's like. Or I guess Rean's world? Or both.

Date: 2018-12-18 06:27 am (UTC)Yeah. Actually, is there anything out there besides this resort? Or is this place the only thing you've ever known? In this world.
Also I'd be interested in both politics and history. The politics of another world might be interesting to compare to with Japan's.
something something spoilers for csi/csii
