Yeah, pretty much. I don't imagine the consequences would be any different for us if we refuse to participate, so the only thing abstaining would accomplish is getting me and Cinque killed.

which means the big problem for everyone is just the resort

...Thanks? I still have some mixed feelings about the Barghest, but I didn't exactly want to get caught between the both of them either, especially with how vengeful it was. I don't want to say it's good they're gone, but it certainly makes things less complicated.

I'd say the problem's more about the Outsider than anything. I don't think a lot of this would've happened if he didn't go around playing with stuff he shouldn't be.

Yeah. Everything started getting strange the moment we lost sight of the Outsider. That's probably when he made his way into the resort, because the situation only got worse after that.

he said something about how you guys ignored them for a while, but then you suddenly noticed him?

and then i think he got paranoid and killed ichigo and went into the vents after that?

I don't know about the others, but I didn't really pay attention to him until the resort told us that he was hurting it. If someone did provoke something, it wasn't me.

even if he did something i'm not sure he would have noticed?

i don't think he noticed, uh. a lot of things.

szayel's really mad at him

but he's the boss and he wants to help fix whatever's wrong with the resort!

Yeah, that's the impression I'm getting out of him too. That doesn't really change what he's done though, and the fact that he's continuing to cause trouble just by being here.

I've been talking with Szayel too. I'm going to be honest: I'm still not sure if I can trust you guys enough to not kill me permanently if you get the chance, but I also think we'd have a tough time resolving this on our own, especially now that he knows who Doppelganger's host is.

[He's dozing off because he's more or less confined to bed for the day, but the ping on the tablet does get him to wake, although he's a little groggy as he turns his head to look around the room. Give him a moment to check the tablet.]

Yeah, that's just how it goes. So in that sense, we've never 'met' or talked with each other, even though I know just about everything about him at this point.

because you have access to his memories?

he's not conscious at all?

Yeah, that's exactly it. I know what he knows, and I don't know what he doesn't know.

[His hand drifts to rest on his chest for a moment before he lets it drop.

He shakes his head for the second question.]

Like I said before: he's not home. It's only me in here.

Yeah. Even if I don't account for the missing arm, I can't see this body lasting for more than two to three weeks.

i mean basically when he dies he's going to show up over here with no idea what happened, right?

Well, when you put it that way... yeah, that does kind of make it awkward. [Not that he seems too bothered by the thought??]

I don't have the power to make him remember or come back or anything though; that's not how this works.

we don't really have possessions where i come from, so... i'm kind of lost!

It's not like what happened with Doppelganger and Barghest, if that's what you're imagining. But I just go inside their bodies, sync up with them and then control them from there.

so you sync up and use their memories to act the part...

Well, it's not like we're the same species or anything. Honestly, I was pretty surprised when the Outsider just called us ghosts like we were all the same.

i think it's probably safe to assume the outsider has no idea what he's talking about!!

what's the ideal ending for you, though?

I thought he would've learned something from watching us, but I guess I was wrong. [And he overestimated him.]

Ideal ending, huh... I mean, this resort is pretty much home for me, so yeah. I'll probably just stay here and continue what I've been doing for years. A bigger host would be nice though. Humans don't really last that long, and it's a little cramped in here.

but he really liked red. he even told me he wanted to keep the world safe so she wouldn't ever get so sad she couldn't sing anymore
